For example, a roundtrip award ticket between Barcelona and Zurich regularly costs 30,000 miles, but has been reduced to only 22,500 miles for the promotional period. And a companion’s ticket on the same flight has been reduced to 15,000 miles — 5,000 less than the standard redemption cost. Or travel between Johannesburg and Europe for 110,000 miles and 80,000 for a companion. Roundtrip award flights between Frankfurt and Zurich, and Berlin and Basle have also been reduced by 25 percent.
