Japan: ANA, Sony to Join Hands

All Nippon Airways and the Sony Corp. are launching a partnership in June that will enable Mileage Club members to convert their earned mileage points into electronic money.

In the proposed program, members will be able to use e-cash to pay for their hotel and restaurant checks. They will also be able to use mileage points for online shopping, using the points as credit for purchases.

ANA will use the Edy prepaid e-cash operated by BitWallet Inc., a Sony subsidiary. The carrier will also team up with Sony Finance International Inc. to use its credit card.
