"Liquid Loot" to Reward Frequent Drinkers

Soda drinkers, rejoice. You’re about to be recognized.

Dr Pepper/Seven Up Inc. announced recently that it had struck a marketing deal with Internet auctioneer eBay.

The agreement, details of which were not released, will forge a new rewards program called “Liquid Loot,” due sometime in June. The program will essentially allow buyers of 7 Up, Dr. Pepper and A&W Root Beer to redeem points in order to bid on merchandise. Given the recent promotions involving Coke and Delta SkyMiles, it was only a matter of time before the sugar water industry woke up to the idea of frequent drinkers.

Ebay already has a deal with Continental OnePass, under which the airline program conducts its online auctions.
