America West Offers a Head Start on Elite Status

America West Offers a Head Start on Elite Status

From Jan. 1 to April 15, FlightFund members can earn an additional 5,000 elite-qualifying miles by flying America West and using the services of select FlightFund partners.

America West says earning the miles is as easy as 1-2-3, but it’s a little more complicated than that.

First, you must fly four roundtrips on America West or America West express (keep in mind, online ticket purchases earn 500 miles a pop).

Second, you need to earn miles for three transactions with FlightFund hotel or car rental partners. These include the Arizona Biltmore, Best Western, Circus Circus, Excalibur, Four points by Sheraton, Hilton, Hyatt, Luxor, The Luxury Collection, Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo, AmeriSuites, Priority Club, Radisson, Sheraton, St. Regis, Summefield Suites, W Hotels, Wellesley Inns, Westin and Wyndham.

Here’s a tip: conversion of Radisson Gold Points, and only Radisson Gold Points, into miles will count for purposes of this promotion.

Participating car rental partners include Alamo, Avis, Dollar, National and Thrifty.

Finally, you need to sign up with two of the following services: FlightFund Visa Card, FlightFund Visa Business Card, FlightFund Visa Check Card, Earthlink Internet access, PeopleFirst.com, H&R Block, America West Club, SuperShuttle or ExecuCar, or Nationwide Mortgage.

Clear so far? Think of it this way: Fly Four, Earn Three, Join Two.

Maybe it’s not as easy as 1-2-3, but it’s certainly within the realm of possibility for the business traveler, and it’s a nice way to earn 20 percent of the miles needed for Silver status.
